Paramore and Fueled By Ramen are being sued for stealing another band’s song.

It's said that the band, Tenspoke Indies, is suing Paramore for copyright infringement because they claim that parts of their song “Starlighter” are in Paramore’s song “The Only Exception.”
Tenspoke Indies wrote and recorded the song in 2006, sent a copy to Fueled By Ramen and three years later, Paramore released Brand New Eyes, featuring “The Only Exception”.
Tenspoke claims that there is substantial similarity between “Starlighter” and “The Only Exception” including (but not limited to), similarities in the introductions, arrangements, the chord progression, the key, the melody, the lyrical theme, the rhythm and tempo of both songs.
Tenspoke Indies wants at least $75,000 plus other things.

In my opinion they do kind of sound similar, but I don’t think they should be suing Paramore because they probably had no idea about this. As much as I respect the label, Fueled By Ramen they are the ones responsible for the whole matter. They probably guided Paramore to use the style that they used for "The Only Exception." They more then likely didn’t tell Paramore that it was written by another band. But then again, who knows.
