MTV Not Showing 30 Seconds New Video?!

Posted by SillyShannon on December 6, 2010 at 7:13 AM Comments comments (0)

As many of you know there has been much controversy over the music video to "Hurricane" by 30 Seconds to Mars. The band has reportedly made a shorten tv-friendly version of the video but, the video was supposedly still not clean enough and was banned.

I'm sorry but what? May music videos have been altered, bleeped and edited by MTV and they don't like this one all of a sudden? Yes the music video is a long thirtteen minutes but still, it doesn't make sense.

I might be thinking of a different tv channel but isn't MTV supose to be a music video channel? Maybe 30 Seconds To Mars' music video had pregnant teenagers and more Guidos. MTV would love it then.

Here's both music videos censored and uncensored

The Jersey Boys Are Back!

My Chemical Romance's newest album, Danger Days: The True Lives of Fabulous Killjoys, was one of this year's most anticipated releases. Did it live up to its expectations?  I think not. I believe Danger Days when over and beyond its expectations. The album is a huge improvement from Black Parade. Influenced by everything from drugs to the boys love for comic book this album is sure to make it big.

Look Alive Sunshine: the album starts off with the character, radio DJ Dr. Death Defying. His deep dark but energetic voice is the hope for an incredible start.

Na Na Na: The Bowie influenced song was the first single off the album and certainly made fans excited for the rest of the album

SING: . Although, peaceful and MCR aren't normally used in the same sentence, peaceful is exactly how this song is(compared to the other tracks at least) Gerard Way turns down his vocals in this track and marks it as the albums slow song.

Planetary (GO!): The songs starts out with almost techno-dancey sirens and Gerard chanting. Without a doubt this track is going to be fun to dance(or mosh) to at concerts and great for working out.

The Only Hope For Me Is You: The second single off the album. Lyrically this song seems to be about the tragedy of 9/11 and a few other horrific disasters that have occured.

Jet-Star and the Kobra Kid/Traffic Report: Dr. Death Defying comes back to warn listeners that something has gone wrong. He warns/asks everyone to " Keep your boots tight, keep your guns close, and die with your mask on if you’ve got to."

Party Poison: Recently called Death Before Disco. The songs starts off with a woman speaking what seems to be Japanese and then bursts right back into drum-rhythm, then guitar and then more guitar and then even more guitar.

Save Yourself (I'll Hold Them Back): May become the new single(its only a rumor). Certainly a fan favorite, and one of my personal faves off this album

S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W/: Now, this is definitely the slow song of the album. The song breaks with a melodic and beautiful guitar part and then it turns into a small acid trip for you ears. "let’s pick some flowers and run through the meadow together." Seems very Beatles inspirational with all the hippie trippie sounds. Thumbs up!

Summertime: The most pop-ish song on the album and will easily be on my summer soundtrack! MCR knows how to write a cute when they want to.

DESTROYA: This track (which has a huge Red Hot Chili Pepper vibe) starts off with a small sound check. Very energetic and high tempo, which is just what the doctor ( Dr. Death Defying to be extact) ordered after the last couple slower tracks. The track has very powerful chants and guitar parts. "You don’t believe in God, I don’t believe in luck, but I believe in the enemy!"

The Kids From Yesterday: The track's melody is melancholic and dark and keeps a great beat and tempo all the way through. This will most likely a be big hand clapper during shows. You can't help but sing along and feel touched.

Goodnite, Dr. Death: Dr. Death Defying sings us to sleep with American National Athem which of course ends in a big explosion.

Vampire Money: The final song on the album and my personal favorite. Starts off with a similar intro as The Sweet's Ballroom Blitz. This song is what the members of the MCRarmy that have been with the band since Bullets have been wanting. You remeber the music video for Teenagers? You remember the gas mask wearing cheerleaders with the guns? Well, this song is exactly like that, except the guns shoot confetti and the gas masks are painted colorful like Lucha libres'.

Stephen Jerzak posted a brand new (but no title given) song from his Ep My Uke Has A Crush On You. He also posted that the Ep will be coming out on itunes November 2nd. The song, like the entire Ep, is very catchy, lovey-dovey, and of course, filled with ukulele parts that make you just wanna do the hula.

On twitter Jerzak also said that once the song on his tumblr got 10k listens he'd be posting another new song. You can listen to the already leaked song here:

New My Chemical Romance Song!

Posted by SillyShannon on October 13, 2010 at 9:01 PM Comments comments (0)

Anxious fans now can jam out to MCR's newest single The Only Hope For Me Is You along with Na Na Na. The song was leaked on youtube a few days ago and one of the videos that features the song already has over 50,000 views. This song has become quiet a controversial topic. Many fans seem to be beginning to stray away from the band saying that "they're not the same as they use to be. they lost their roots." Although, other fans are loving MCR's rebirth and that the song is "Haunting." and that they "absolutely love the new look and sound."

What do you think?
Will you be singing along to this album, or be digging out the old ones?

Paramore and Fueled By Ramen Being Sued?

Posted by SillyShannon on October 13, 2010 at 7:36 PM Comments comments (1)

Paramore and Fueled By Ramen are being sued for stealing another band’s song.

It's said that the band, Tenspoke Indies, is suing Paramore for copyright infringement because they claim that parts of their song “Starlighter” are in Paramore’s song “The Only Exception.”

Tenspoke Indies wrote and recorded the song in 2006, sent a copy to Fueled By Ramen and three years later, Paramore released Brand New Eyes, featuring “The Only Exception”.

Tenspoke claims that there is substantial similarity between “Starlighter” and “The Only Exception” including (but not limited to), similarities in the introductions, arrangements, the chord progression, the key, the melody, the lyrical theme, the rhythm and tempo of both songs.

Tenspoke Indies wants at least $75,000 plus other things.

Do they sound similar to you? Take a listen by clicking here

In my opinion they do kind of sound similar, but I don’t think they should be suing Paramore because they probably had no idea about this. As much as I respect the label, Fueled By Ramen they are the ones responsible for the whole matter. They probably guided Paramore to use the style that they used for "The Only Exception." They more then likely didn’t tell Paramore that it was written by another band. But then again, who knows.

The Newest Video From MCR

Posted by SillyShannon on September 17, 2010 at 6:38 PM Comments comments (0)

Over the past week My Chemical Romance has been putting on some rather unusual videos that seemed to be promos for their newest CD. The newest collection to these videos is what appears to be a mini music video for a new song called Art Is The Weapon. The video pretty much explains the oddness of the recent videos, and at the end, tells you that MCR's new CD Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys will be coming out soon.

This video has everything a die hard My Chemical Romance fan would want: confusing concepts, wanna-be comic book style villains, and a cute shoot of Gerard's ass.

Anyone else excited?
